About the Cottage

A charming 300-year-old English cottage, once a tobacconist, fruiterer, and village newsagent, The Old Shop at Savile House is now a beautifully presented holiday home full of character and comfort.

Sleeping up to five across three bedrooms, this pet- and family-friendly retreat features tiled and wooden floors on the ground level, a secure garden, and thoughtful touches including a travel cot, high chair, toys, and child-friendly plates, bowls, beakers, and cutlery.

Fibre Wi-Fi, full central heating, and a cast-iron style electric stove ensure year-round comfort. Enter through the rear of the property into the cosy living room, complete with two three-seater sofas, a 40” TV, and a well-stocked bookcase. The space flows into the fully equipped kitchen-diner, featuring a large dining table and everything needed for self-catering. From the kitchen-diner, the stairs lead up to the first floor. At the top of the stairs, to the left, is the master bedroom with a king-size bed, wardrobe, and dressing table. To the right are the remaining two bedrooms: a comfortable double room with wardrobe and drawers, and a single bedroom with a clothes hanger. The family bathroom includes a bath with an overhead shower. For added peace of mind, there is also a handy retractable safety gate on the landing.

Outside, enjoy the enclosed paved garden with established foliage, outdoor seating, and a BBQ, a great and peaceful space for children and dogs. Parking is available via a narrow driveway, with on-street parking also nearby.
